Could do something in the future. I could help you if you helped me. Work something out... You're the only imperial that doesn't sneer at me without reason... Please... I wanted a friendship and... And a business like relationship with you... I like you.. I don't know why honestly when you can be so rude.." She weakly giggles. "But I do like you Aryteneus." "I'm not rude - I'm just being honest. Give me real reasons why I shouldn't tell - without crying - and without...dragging friendship into it." Lan whimpers and takes a moment to calm down. She wipes her face. "I... My father has ruined my family's name. You should know this.. I've been given this chance... As much as I did not want this... To save my family. I doubt you and your family care about mine and what struggles I need to go through to try and save a shred of what's left. But, Aryteneus... I've thought about it and I feel once I do take over my fathers ruined throne, I'd like to make some sort of agreement with you and your family. I know there's a war going on and I don't see it ending anytime soon. Maybe we could work out something that way you could use my ports for supplies, we could help your injured, house them when they are in need. I doubt I will have many men to offer as soldiers but we could help yours. I'm not like my father who's stubborn and refuses to see that we need help that there's nothing wrong with bowing down to a higher power. I'm willing to bow to you. As much as that makes me seem weak, but my land and my people deserve better and I'm willing to do what it takes to give them a better life than what my father is giving them." |
