"I... I guess...? I don't know how to handle people of my own age..." He fiddles with his hands. "I... I don't know how to handle being a prince either. So many responsibilities just thrown at me all at once. I have so much to do... And all eyes are on me because of the lack of respect my father has. People see me already as a mess up and with my attitude... It's not helping my image... I tried to smile and say little but I just can't seem to keep my mouth shut. I criticize others when I'm the one needing fixing. Fix what exactly? Don't know... I really have no clear idea what I truly need to do other than what my father wants me to do. Have I done that? No. I'm failing to do so... They only thing I've done is screw around. I'm not special like my father has claimed me to be... I never thought to be special anyway... Not how he treated-" He suddenly stops and grows quiet. Lan eyes him. "But everyone I've met is just... I don't know... I'm jealous of them. Aryteneus especially. He has such a drive for something that he doesn't let anything stop him from it. I'm just... Here. I have no drive. Well... Other than a few things which aren't important and I really should just- Never mind..." He frowns. "Bran... You're a kind of a prick but... Maybe you are what I need right now. Minus... The hitting... I'm not looking to be taught how to brawl with someone.. I just need to guidance with have a mind at peace. You seem to keep it together... I need that right now so I can manage things. I just need help getting there." |

"If you were older I'd say we should get a drink." He shakes his head, looking mildly insulted at this prick calling him a prick before he sighs and let's it go. "Who is this Aryteneus? And if you have a few things that are important to you, follow them. I'm not the best person to give advice on pace of mind, Lan. Don't have it. I think you need to find one of those monks on a mountain or something for true inner peace."

Bran looks a bit uncomfortable that Lan suddenly dropped all these problems on him, but smiles.

"It's not true." He says more firmly. "You have leaders yes, but that's from your heart, not from your blood. And to say things like top and bottom - to isolate yourself like that - it's stupid. You could be missing out on some of the best stories and some of the best people you can ever know."
