I assume you both begin downstairs?
The decorations are lavish, but in northern tastes. There are three musicians playing in the corner - loud enough to be heard, but not overpowering the conversation. Groups mingle and drink while waiting for the formal dinner. Some of the younger crowd are dancing, but the missing musician spots imply that true dancing will be reserved for later. There are a group of northern lords nearer a large crackling fireplace, while a few imperials mingle nearby (red heads unite). The polite conversation consists of health and wealth, and if the individual is particular daring may even include discussion of the weather!

You hear them announcing names from the first floor as well, mostly northern officials, though you recognize the names Silus and Selena Dracmere followed by a young 7 year old Cera Dracmere, and Agamedes Beleil with his son Balastros and daughter Chara. The room goes silent though when the names Nachoth and Ostlahoth are announced. It seems no one was really expecting them to attend.
