Kaia: Trust me, I'm a Doctor
Virgil: Damned Heretics Everywhere
You are able to establish a small safe house closer to the south side of the city. It was an old abandoned apartment on a quiet street. The neighbors are lacking at the moment due to a fire which destroyed some of the surrounding apartments. Few people poke around here, and those that do are of a questionable nature to begin with in that they refuse to make eye contact. The neighbors across the street appear to deal in drugs of some sort to the observant eye. There are back exits and alleys galore.
The traveling clinic is set up more centrally in a desirable merchant's corner. It was a more expensive little building, but the price was cut due to the last owner dying from consumption and desperation of the landowner to lease it quickly (the common folk are whispering that the previous owner will continue to haunt the premises). These whispers die down once the shop is set up, and soon there is a fairly regular stream of customers in and out. Most of them seem to be interested more in herbs and wives' cures rather than actual medicine. The women seem to be superstitious, and there is an odd fascination with the dead here. Kaia has probably received may questions regarding how to bury loved ones properly so that they do not return to life; to Virgil it smacks of necromancy and anti-church policies.
There has been a gentlemen who visits frequently due to the proximity to his house. He seems to be a minor businessman, but he has some ties to the upper class. He has a fairly raspy cough, and is not getting enough rest in order to heal.
There has also been a kid who keeps walking by in the streets now and then. It's difficult to tell if they are planning to purchase something or rob the place, but to a Nightblade's trained eye, there is something going on there.

For the time being it will be business as usual to get established. Kaia will split her time between handling most of the clients and collecting rumors. She also tries to spread word that her clinic is a safe neutral ground if the shady groups within the city get rowdy.
Virgil will be tasked with assisting when a more serious case comes along, doing legwork with procuring supplies and such, continuing to practice his studies, and doing some side research into the incidents that had war rented a meeting of the lords.

Oh nearly forgot. Due to current targets Kaia has seen fit to teach Virgil the skill of Seeing or sensing magic by using your own. (Robert help me out with the specifics of this when you get a chance)

One late evening the kid who has been by the store a few times comes in, holding their side. She has light hair and eyes and looks rather beat up, purple bruises on her arms and face and a few cuts. Kaia would age her around twelve or thirteen. She's dressed modestly - not really poor but definitely not rich. "Can I...get some ointment?" |

"My mother was the one people came to when they couldn't afford a doctor, she died when I was just a bit younger than you. I decided then that I would take her place. It was hard to find someone to learn from, but in the end I found a place that taught me many things."
