After a few hours, Caerus does return, looking as disheveled as ever but content with the stack of books he has with him. He spends the rest of the afternoon with history lessons of near and far places. He is actually not horribly dull as a teacher - he seems to get particularly excited over certain things, and the historical portraits are painted with tales of what the individuals did privately (not just they won such and such war, but also they loathed their sons or had a fascination with painting). He describes many of the places as though he has been there, and makes little side notes nor and then on the language dialects within the region. The history lesson today focuses on the current continent, including mage Lords' reigns, Beliel and Dracmere separation from the Empire (which he regards with great amusement), and the rise of the church throughout the region (which prompts a few eye rolls).

Kai listens while braiding knots into a piece of rope, and continuously shifting and changing positions in his chair. He asks many questions, sometimes rather abruptly, and sometimes about things discussed earlier in the lessons but that kind of relate to the current topic in a weird way. Since it seems like Caerus met some of the people, Kai'll ask whether he's met the Beliel and Dracmere mage lords. If the lessons go on more than an hour, Kai'll get pretty restless and start trying to find ways to get out of listening any longer.

Virgil listens intently. Some of this he knows but all of the side information is fascinating.

Rose probably sneaks one of the books and reads and pokes her head up now and then to listen

He makes sure to pick on her in regards to questions (and will do the same to Abrus) in an attempt to make it virtually impossible for her to actually read the book. "Not personally. I vaguely recall them at a few events, but that was decades ago."

He shuffles through the history books currently not in use, looking for pictures with swords in them. There are one or two pictures, but the images really do not focus on the sword as much as the individual bearing them.
