"And we will have to detain you until we can verify this story with the lord of the household." Chimes in the second guard. "That is quite fine. But if you would go check on the lord for me while I remain here with your companion. And if you will allow it can you let my companion here deliver a message to our master about what has occurred so that we can avoid an angry and rash man causing you undue grief." "Is that a threat?" The one guard asks in response to the last sentence, eyes narrowing. |

Both of you come with me." The one guard commands. The other knocks on the door - declaring himself a guard of the city. There's a little squeak behind the destroyed door and a creak as it half opens so that one of the maids looks out. "Ma'am - is the master of the house home?" "No - he's away on business." "What time can we expect him returned?" "It's hard to tell. Sometimes he's gone for days." She eyes Kairos and Virgil suspiciously, but seems less afraid noticing they're children. "These two were trying to break in!" |

He paid a visit to (insert other nobles name here) earlier today and left with a charge of mine. She returned injured later. I assumed the worst and came here. She refused to say what happened. This is why I asked if o could send my companion with a message to get ahold of my master and her so they could confirm my story. But if you don't care about this lords well being then by all means. Off we go then!" And makes to walk towards the guards barracks. |

You are treated quite politely during this mess at the barracks. They probably even give you some bread and wine while you wait in a nice little cell. Well that bluff really didn't go as planned. Kai hangs back a bit from going into a cell, but makes not much fuss since Virgil is with him. He seems antsy though and messes with his shirt collar and paces around and if there's a bench in the cell he perches on it periodically. Whenever the keys jingle he jumps. |

If he fights back they will thwop him over the head pretty hard with a club and just toss him in while he is disoriented. He will be left with a single guard who will promtly fall asleep |
