In the center of the courtyard there is a huge fountain carved of marble into the shape of a young man and woman dancing together. The woman has a large warm smile on her face, and is wearing a loose dress looking to be of old imperial style and she has long hair running down her back and if examined closely it appears she is pregnant. The man has a smaller smile spread across his lips, and is dressed in a cloak and travel clothes with a sword at his hip. Something about him feels a bit out of his element. Both are barefoot and are slowly rotating around with the time of day. There are small notches on the base to keep track of the hour and every six hours water shoots up around the two. Beneath them there's four angels each with four wings standing guard perched atop four serpents with water pouring from their mouth, the angels each have great swords and are piercing the serpents through the head. The bowl of the fountain is filled with coins and baubles, and other things that appear to be personal effects. A few small minnows swim here. Along the rim there are elaborate pictures carved that seem to tell a story of a man going on an adventure, but several key moments seem to be scratched out.

Lan walks calmly and pauses to look at the statue of the woman and man. He gets a sad expression as he eyes the woman for a long moment.

"Worse comes to worse we can hack off some from one of the trees." Aryteneus follows Theros looking for sticks, seeming to be in a bit of a better mood.

"Worse comes to worse we can hack off some from one of the trees." Aryteneus follows Theros looking for sticks, seeming to be in a bit of a better mood. After collecting some nice sized sticks, which Theros hunted and handed to Ary as he found them, he makes his way back to the boys' dorm.

Lan stays put. He sits down by the fountain in thought. Hadn't gotten much time to sit and just think things through. There were so many thoughts fluttering about that it almost hurt. Do this. Do that. Make sure not to mess up. He sighs and sits there.
He gets up eventually and walks towards the girls dorm, nervous.

Theros strikes a basic one-handed swordfighting posture. "Here's how you stand and hold the sword. Feet apart, weight on the balls of your feet."

She marches toward the pretty fountain like she owns the place all while grinning from ear to ear.

Aryteneus scrutinizes for a moment before doing his best to mimic. Theros goes over and adjusts one of Ary's feet. "Like this." He pushes Ary's arm up a fraction of an inch. "And this." He jumps back into the pose. "Now breathe. Keep a steady rhythm."
