This is a recruitment notification to inform you that the GM has elected to run a Nightblades game. The game is currently in phase one of plotting and should be completed over the next month or so. The GM hopes to run said game during a brief interlude between the ongoing Mage game - a filler while those whiny brats undergo puberty if you will.
How does this affect you? For starters, you are all welcome to join (shocking, I am sure). The game will hopefully be run at a faster pace, via the FATE format, and with NPCs provided by yours truly and GM. So how do you sign up for this opportunity? What are the Nightblades? Fantastic bloody questions.
The "Nightblades" is a fraternity of assassins that exists to serve their creed and eliminate mages who abuse their powers. They work in the shadows and with blades - brilliant name no? Unrelenting and unyielding, their reputation spans centuries although little is know about them as should be the case with a damned secret organization. You will be playing both a mentor (age 20-30) and an apprentice (age 12-15) to start off with. Take fair notice that mentors usually do not survive the first act, poor bastards. Students will have been a part of the Nightblades for a year now - start building your pathetic sob stories and motivations for why you think you are worthy of being a part of this prestigious organization (or why you are desperate enough to have no other clear future). Psychopaths welcome. Any motivations to actually be an assassin are welcome as a matter of fact. Emotional conflict over killing someone is to be expected. This said, arseholes incapable of killing another person should probably not sign up for this game. Characters with such motivations should perhaps pursue an interest in the entertainment industry, the arts, or even a medical career where they can feel good about themselves for recognising beauty, life, and whatever other bullshit makes them feel better about themselves at the end of the day. We make things happen by force with the Nightblades, and we will not apologize. Sometimes you must work in the shadows to bring about light. There are no delusions here. So keep this idea in mind: why the hell sign up to play an assassin game while creating a character who does not wish to be one? Now, if you're thinking of creating some contradictory traitor of a character who only wants to be an assassin to learn our secrets...well that is perfectly fine. Just know that I will find you.
So checklist of things to do:
[ ] Ask questions
[ ] Select one of the below mentors and declare them below
[ ] Begin building a student
Mentors (gender and specific personalities to be determined by you):
Mentor One: seeks glory, reckless, prankster
Mentor Two: wants innovation in the Nightblades; against the old ways; visionary
Mentor Three: opposite mentor 2; nostalgic; storyteller; prefers old ways
Mentor Four: Strong sense of justice; righteous; determined
Mentor Five: fearless leader; commanding
All five mentors are well established friends; all rather despise me. The GM will email you with more specific requirements and information each mentor will know once you declare your choice. Student-Mentor relationships are up to you so long as they meet the parameters stated in my previous paragraphs.
Welcome to the Brotherhood.
