A huge colorful map in the front of the room. Closed cabinets. Cheesy motivational posters.

The teacher is there 5 minutes ahead of class start. He gives the posters a disgusted glance. He is in his thirties, left eye is patched over, average height, very muscular build, short dark hair. He is writing a list out on a large sheet of paper before him.

Aryteneus walks in proudly and sits in the front ten minutes before class starts (since geometry and introduction to natural laws were dismissed early). He takes out his books and quill, organizing everything appropriately before folding his hands on his lap and waiting, eyeing the teacher over curiously. He approves of said disgusted glance towards the motivational posters.

"I know all of you are wondering, and yes, 'military' is misspelled on the door." He says dryly. "Hope none of you got lost. Efforts are being made to rectify the situation." He stands. "I am Dimitar Dragic. Address me as Mr. Dragic or sir. You all may now stand and introduce yourselves starting here." He points to the lower right corner of the room.

Aryteneus stands at full military stance, bowing as they do at home, before saying perfectly in one breath:
"Sir, I am Aryteneus Orsalis Vlasis Spiro Gallus Regulus Erastos Timaeus Sophus Linos Stamatis Silan Irenaeus Horatio Cosmas Gaius Chrysanthos Cassender Phyrrus Glaukus Orestes Methodius Aristeaus Eythymius Drakus."

"Impressive. Next." He looks to the next kid, the sarcasm in his voice a little harder to detect in that 'impressive.' This pattern is followed through all the other students. Once complete, he begins class. "Everyone open your notes." He explains that there are five tests, no make-ups, no extra credit. Then he gives a lecture, precisely 30 minutes long, an overview of magic in military history and which points we will cover when. Then he passes around a sign up sheet. "This is for a game we will be playing mid semester where each of you will represent a country. The country assignments will be drawn at random from this list of names. Any questions as of now?"

Aryteneus signs up with just his first name (hopefully standardized tests do not require full names in this world). He shakes his head no as to questions, just excited that there was finally a competent instructor and it was in a class he was determined to like.

"Class dismissed." He waits until all classmembers file out, watching them seriously with his single eye, before he picks up his things and leaves.
