Aspects Orthos: Nonstop Abrus: Strained Eyes
The church provides you with extensive candles, books, paperwork, ink, and anything else you may require for your endeavors.
You are able to establish a fairly accurate map of the city. Abrus finds that the current map, however, does not seem to match up with older maps of the city. It appears entire streets have been removed and buildings demolished over time, but there is one map that suggests a portion of the city is under a newer section. It is a bit unclear.
Suspicious activity seems to occur more on the south side of the city. There people seem to disappear and their corpses are found months later (if lucky). It's the red light district if you will, and the area I presume Balaban and Rose will predominantly be searching into. The Black Clover hosts more unsavory sorts of individuals. It is where secrets are traded and sold.
There are a few noble families in the city, but unlike elsewhere in the continent the names do not appear to be consistent. Their families appear to rule for two to three generations before the entire family is replaced with a new nobility that rose from the ashes. Currently, there seems to be a bit of a stir as a young nobleman named Talio Crev has disappeared. Crev was known for openly converting to the Church of Cashemar of late, and had been stirring quite a bit of ruckus. His family has posted a large reward for any information leading to his return.
Ask away for questions or declare aspects.

Orthos traces a finger lightly across the map, as though running through the streets and crowded alleyways himself. "No, Abrus, that's not a bad assumption to operate on. Even if untrue, taking the more cautious - and dare I say paranoid - approach has saved my life on many occasions. I must say, you're much more perceptive a boy than I was given to believe."
"These discrepancies between older maps are key - any inconsistencies need to be investigated by our stealth teams immediately. If there are hidden passageways or abandoned buildings, abandoned streets, they will serve us in good stead. Let us begin by labeling the city according to a grid pattern. Do you have a pencil? Good. Use a straightedge and lightly draw a 100x100 grid over the map, labeling each row and column 1, 2, 3, etc. I'll find a large journal to record annotations and notes in - we'll need to keep an accurate and up-to-date tab on everything going on in the city, to the best of our ability."
"Furthermore, we need to practice appropriate information security measures. Are you any good at ciphers?"

Lets use this forum to compile the information learned and determine the best course of action -raving priest goes missing -two (ish?) nobles go missing -Nacoth behind vanishing people -one noble, named Crev, converted to Cashmarian religion, stopped paying taxes, and is now missing -people who go missing sometimes come back as family-eating zombies (These nobles haven’t) -they have shown up again in the southern district -Nacoth does “experiments” which require a tax of humans, ‘eldest of each family or anyone who’s disabled.’ This is not a rare occurrence. -Nacoth does not frequent brothels -<will insert four names of people on the Madam's list once I get them> -Nacoth and Cashemerians do not get along, but there’s kinda been a surge of Cashemerians recently -<Insert specific location of a rather non-descript entrance to the catacombs here> -Trell works in kitchens -to locals: catacombs = dangerous -Ban questioned some guys who wanted to hire an assassin but they didn’t seem to have anything interesting or important. Ban of course mentions that he can possibly disguise himself as Ostlahoth, as he has rarely been seen.

Abrus assuming you were at the church reading or researching during the time of the party you see smoke coming from the direction of your safehouse.
