Considering as it's night, Kai decides to feign sleeping. He lays out his child's cloak on the rocky ground, puts his backpack up as a 'pillow', lays the sword gingerly next to these things, taking the time to oil and sheath it single handedly. He pulls a shadow out of the backpack. He feels it for a moment, looks a little confused that there's no holes in it. Then shivering he wraps it over himself and lies down carefully protecting the injured arm while his other hand rubs his face and nose.
