She gently takes his good hand. "Do not waste your shot." She says softly. (I kind of want to draw the curtains of the Act theatrically right there, so we wouldn't have to see Kai's shameful reaction!) Kai looks at Rose trying not to cry, "I... He..." Then he frowns. "That's a stupid thing to say. Stupid! Of course I'm not going to waste my shot, I'm always quick and I always try not to waste my shot and he knew that but I guess I wasted him. What a stupid thing for him to say!" He stands up again and starts back up the steps to the hall. (Haha poor Kai) She gets up and follows him. "Kai... Wha would ya want him ta say? Good bye? See ya on da Otha side? Kai, I tink wha he said was perfect for ya. He cared so much bout ya." She tries to keep her voice steady but she herself is getting a bit emotional. |

He frowns and shakes his head at that last line. He breaks away from her. "I'm going to sleep." She sighs not following this time. She knew the steps to the dance of mourning. Though Kai was lucky enough to be around people who care. She sits back on the stairs and stays there the rest of the night, not the wanting to sleep. |

Kai goes into their room. He looks at where Virgil is studying, hesitates a moment, and then picks up one of the spare inn blankets, looking at it in distaste. He goes back to his bag and the place he slept the night before, curls up and closes his eyes.
