You find one of the windows on the ground floor is shattered as though someone has broken in at some point. Investigate 2 Notice 4 Looking to see if it's a fresh break. Like see if any spiderwebs have taken over the hole or not. That sort of thing. There is a fine layer of dust and some cobwebs. You see a giant print in the dust-probably reminds you of wolf prints ..

She eases up a bit but still keeps an eye out. She wanders room to room, picturing the group living in each. She lets out a sigh that most would say sounded a mother expecting.

You do get closer to the cliffs. There's a few long lines at different elevator spots. Some are hand operated and appear to attract poorer civilians while mages rotate operating some of the more expensive ones. You pick up on a young kid pickpocketing some people while waiting in line, Abrus. There's a gaggle of young middle class girls chatting in line as well and a somber looking gentleman looking out over the cliff (he does not seem to be particularly inclined to any of the lines). Kai notices some thugs beating a man in one of the alleys before the buildings thin out to the elevators. No one seems to care. He will make it seem as if he doesnt notice the boy, almost daring him to try.

Is that below the cliffs or something?)

It's difficult to read - but there's a picture of a giant dog or wolf and some sort of number.

The boy creeps closer, sizing you up, but doesn't appear as interested in stealing from an emaciated corpse as he does from some red-headed nobles.

Ok so time travel to the recent past (or not flash back, whatever is more convenient or makes more sense to you, Abrus), where Kai sees person getting beat up. "Abrus!" Kai touches Abrus's elbow subtly. "Look! Can we help him?"

Kai touches Abrus's elbow subtly. "Look! Can we help him?" "Why?" Not interested in a discussion of the philosophy of ethics, Kai starts to weave his way over there. He evaluates the situation for things that could be thrown or fall on the thugs' heads or trip them up from a distance, or near by soldiers or people who seem nice and also strong, or possible noise making things to scare the guys off. Basically anything he could do to diffuse it and still walk away scott free. Notice 4 to observe the situation quickly.

There are some old dry rotting wood planks near the alleyway and a couple of stones on the way that fit snugly in you hand. There appear to be two guards closer to the cliffs - but they are chatting with some nobles about some issue and you would have to run over and waste time to actually fetch them. The guy is crumpled on the floor and being kicked now - he looks like a late teenager and the men beating him seem a bit older. There is a window above the alley that you could reach from the door on the front side, but that would involve running through someone's house.

Good, if he's down, I'm not likely to accidentally hit him. I pick up stones and fling them at the thugs without a cry or word as soon as I'm in range. Athletics to toss? +1 Stealth to not be noticed until after first rock is thrown +4

He stumbles a bit, hand smacking up to he back of his head as he groans. His friends pause and glance back his way, confused as to why he suddenly stopped before they two are pelted with a few stones. You hide fairly well as they start to glance around to seewhere the threat is coming from, one still guarding the man who's down. The one looks right at you, eyes narrowing.
