The walls seem to be made out of solid stone. Theros shivers. Like a prison.

Fletcher looks a little confused. "But how do you know you're good at it? If I make a bad nail, it breaks when you hammer it. If I make a bad spoon, it's rough, or uneven, or it snaps at the handle. How do you know if you make a bad law?" She turns over suddenly serious. "When people like us suffer." "Ha! Nobles only care about themselves! It is true that not all people are equal which means they can shit on us little folk." Interjects Conrad looking very unhappy.

"Which is why you're a blacksmith - so you don't have to worry about it." He glances over at Theros. "Not all men are equal." Fletcher looks a little confused. "But how do you know you're good at it? If I make a bad nail, it breaks when you hammer it. If I make a bad spoon, it's rough, or uneven, or it snaps at the handle. How do you know if you make a bad law?" "Bad law snaps just like a poorly crafted spoon. My uncle says the most beautiful prose often hides the most insi...insidious intentions. People are so caught up in how it looks they forget how it functions. But bad law does not hold - people ignore it, or rewrite it, or create counter legislation. When it goes to be used it fails...there's so many misinterpretations and loopholes so it doesn't work. Does that make sense?"

The door slowly creeks open and Leah steps in. Her face lights up when she sees the food and immediately shuffles over to get some. Her hair is all matted now and you can see sweat running down her brow, but she looks a bit pleased. "My lady." Lan scurries away from the others then. "What happened to you? Did they have a difficult test for you?"

There does seem to be a large chip in the very bottom of one of the murals "Wow, you chipped the mural here! Wonder what this wall is made of. Not wood, I guess." He glares at Ary, "Of course not! People make choices and then they become what their choices made them. Or something like that." "People are what they are. There's no changing that." He nods in agreement with Burnadette though. "When things are wasteful it can be bad policy...not always, but sometimes."

Fletcher stops for a moment, trying to puzzle out all the long words, and flatly states, "No." "What you just said... the law doesn't break, like the spoon. It's the people who make it that decide they don't like it later."

By the way fletcher that chip on the wall probably really bugs you. The architecture was fine until they messed up the wall
Leah quickly tries to straighten her hair and wipe the sweat away when she sees Lan coming "I... Oh... well it wasn't too bad... You know.... Yours was more impressive."

There were a few colonies that did that and decided not to pay. We, the Empire that is, saw that the law broke and then had to change it because how it was phrased was misinterpreted and unenforceable."

The architecture was fine until they messed up the wall Leah quickly tries to straighten her hair and wipe the sweat away when she sees Lan coming "I... Oh... well it wasn't too bad... You know.... Yours was more impressive." As soon as Fletcher notices the chip on the wall he looks very annoyed. People always ruin good craftsmanship. Now that he's in a sour mood he starts looking around the room intently trying to find flaws. It's irritating. Perception: 3 Observation: 1 Imperfections-wise: 1
