You do notice lights flickering on the lower decks. One of the sailors informs you that there are guards on board who are preventing the crew from leaving and that there was one dressed as a battle Mage. "Where on board?" Balaban runs to the door to below decks. "I can't be sure. Last we left them near the private quarters talking to some mates. They circle back up here now and then to keep an eye on the helm and us."

He pulls out scissors and hides next to door. Orthos surveys the deck, looking for anything that could help them. He looks at Balaban and eyes the sailors on deck pointedly. "Come now, Tareo, there's no need to get worked up. We can just speak to them and explain our situation! I'm certain they'll let us be on our way in no time!"
He leans in towards Tychon, breathing his words just at the threshold of hearing. "Just how much of a bribe do we have?"

"Don't want to make trouble for the captain. That and killing goes against my doctors training. You only cut out what you have to." The sailors seem to be a mixture of amusement and concern over this talk. Orthos rubs his temples, sighing quietly to himself. No saving it now. He makes a 'crazy, right?' gesture to the sailors and pulls the captain aside. "Could I speak to you a moment? I realize this whole situation is putting you under no small amount of stress, but I think we ought to be forthcoming with you."
He looks around furtively, as if to assure no one is listening, but whispers just a touch too loudly. "We're thieves. Stole from right under the noses of a few very important people, you understand? The soldiers all started clearing out like they are now and we used the opportunity to get the hell out of those Cashemar-forsaken cells. Don't know who they're looking for, don't intend to find out. We won't hurt anyone. Price of 20 healthy bulls for each and every one of us, to share amongst yourselves," He lowers his voice, "with a little extra for you, naturally," raising it just slightly again, "As much as we have on us up front, the rest when we reach Goldport. If you'll help us, I'll tell you what to do now."
His voice takes on a threatening, raspy note. "Choose wisely. Tareo and Sybil over there are just itching to use those blades, and they're damnably good with them."

I don't much care how you get rid of the troops. I need them gone before they muck around with my cargo. Goldport is a hell of ways away from the Empire. We will have to stop in Tempadas and maybe some other places as we make our way along the southern tip of the continent. Get rid of the imperials...and we can settle the price once out to sea. Perhaps you can all make a delivery for me..? Regardless we can discuss that later. Times wasting."

I don't much care how you get rid of the troops. I need them gone before they muck around with my cargo. Goldport is a hell of ways away from the Empire. We will have to stop in Talisport and maybe some other places as we make our way along the southern tip of the continent. Get rid of the imperials...and we can settle the price once out to sea. Perhaps you can all make a delivery for me..? Regardless we can discuss that later. Times wasting." The old man relaxes visibly, letting out a short sigh. "Honor among thieves, eh? Alright. We're waiting for one last person - not long, I assure you. I give him five more minutes. Our first priority is the mage. Dangerous, but we can handle him. Get the rigging and empty casks, we'll be hiding and waiting for a signal from you. Keep the mage up here once we're hidden. When our man arrives or when five minutes are up, you put your hand to your forehead, fetch? We'll take care of him, and then the rest in short order. After that, we are out of this port faster than a whore on a Causian goat farm, got it? Best have the men start making preparations."

Well, Lask has gotten sick of playing in the water, he climbs the ship and stumbles upon board. He looks thoroughly pissed.
