He nods a bit, glancing at the others for a moment before asking. "The children. Will they be taken good care of here? I'm assuming they will not be joining us on this one since its on a level above them at the moment." "I think that's our private concern, Lask, not important to these gentlemen or the contract at hand." "I have things in order, don't worry about them, focus on what is at hand. If things get dicy we can send them back to the safe house."

"I think that's our private concern, Lask, not important to these gentlemen or the contract at hand." The man raises a brow. "Are they not Nightblades as well? If you choose to leave them here that is fine - we will keep them safe. I understand the precarious nature of this mission." He sighs. "I suppose we should discuss it later... So have any info on these men we are to kill? Anything important to know?"

He taps the desk again in thought before addressing Laskaris. "I would be better to give you a history book on the Mage Lords. The Mage Lords have long oppressed the people of this land - using their magic to repress and destroy those among us who lack such a gift. The Dracmere and Beliel maintain Imperial barbarism in their tactics, while Nacoth and Ostlahoth favor...more despicable practices. They are old men by all accounts. They maintain their power with spectacles of magic and the common folk seem to believe them immortal." He scoffs. "I believe your organization can dispel that rumor...permanently?"

The younger who has been pacing this whole time speaks up. "Are you sure these are the ones we want father? They seem to doubt their own ability. I've heard of the real noghtblades taking out entire branches of the drakarian line singlehandedly."

People cannot be immortal unless blessed by Cashemar - and even then the Chosen have always lived as mortals." He muses, stroking his scraggly beard. "Regardless, you are dealing with dangerous old men who have years of talent behind them. Ostlahoth is said to be the more vicious of the two...he keeps to himself and has has predilection for little boys." He looks disgusted. "Nacoth is more commonly seen. He seems more involved with managerial affairs or whatever other menial task his brother assigns him. Our information, unfortunately, is limited. It is why we seek your aid." He raises a hand politely towards the other in a gesture of peace. "I would hope so. It took us so long to find any contact with your group...but I have heard that once the nightblades could send only one member to destroy entire lines. The makers and unmakers of dynasties....is this merely exaggeration?"

We were recently reminded that one can never overestimate the resourcefulness of an enemy, and when your target is a Mage lord... But it is no matter. We shall handle this, but fair warning, it will take time with how little information we have.

And rumors are best left as rumors sometimes." He motions to the younger. "Get the quills and ink ready."

"Actually..." He says in pause afterwards. "Has your organization ever failed to uphold a contract? That is - have you ever failed a target...?"
