"We really are not at liberty to tell you our informants, much as I believe you would be reluctant to tell us yours." He clears his throat, still looking uneasy. "Shall we finalize our agreement? We, the Church, will fund your efforts to eliminate the Mage Lords Nacoth, Ostlathoth, Beliel, and Dracmere. We shall maintain the contract here in our records. Your students are welcome to the charity of our home here and will also be compensated for any scouting or...assassinations they complete as well. I am an ardent believer in paying for work and rewarding those loyal to our cause. All discussions regarding this topic will only occur in this room. The remainder of the church will remain oblivious to your cause other than the fact that you are sanctioned by us - perhaps a better cover story would be that you are here seeking spiritual enlightenment? We will retain the right to terminate contracts. You are free to negotiate the terms of your contract with us at any point, although I hope that we will not need to adjust the time schedule too much? We have a ten years' plan, which should be plenty long enough for assassins of your caliber to complete such targets? This said, we would like the necromancers eliminated within the year. You yourself have stated that you and the rest of your Nightblade brethren will uphold this contract to the best of your abilities? Under penalty of death or whatever it is your higher ups do to you...?" He shudders, not really wanting to know the answer. "I will show you to our library following this meeting and get the documents you requested prepared. Is there anything else that needs discussed?" Lask glances at the others, seeming to be fine with it.

Maps and city plans, as many as you can scrounge up. Interviews with every church official and other resource that can speak to us. Information on prior attempts made to mitigate the mage lords' activities, and yes, you have made them. Our cover story should be discussed in greater detail. Such specifics can be addressed in the days to come. Right now, there is only one other thing on the table."
He approaches the desk and places a knife flat on the surface. "A weapon you refuse to hold will not cut your enemy. Tell me that you want us to kill them. You are paying us to murder four humans. Do you grasp the gravity of that? Do you understand what you're paying for?"

"We, the Church, want you to kill them. I recognize the gravity of the situation - that we are paying you to destroy four lives, and that there may be repercussions from that not only for those four individuals but for the surrounding families and dependents. The Church condones the elimination of mages, but endorses the preservation of life. It is a sad predicament we are in. I would not endorse this though if I did not believe that it would pave the way for a brighter and more peaceful future."

He nods grimly and steps back, waiting for the others to conclude their business before leaving.

Can't wait to read all that information.

"Then let all those involved place their mark." The old man says as he melts wax on the bottom of the contract and presses a signet seal into it. He offers a quill to the mentors.

(Break here for next scene)
You can assume that the church upholds what it promised. Food and shelter is provided at the church if you choose to stay there, but that is not a requirement.
The church provides many records all the Mage lords for your use. Nacoth and Ostlahoth have a mass of disjointed and confusing documents. They appear to have borrowed their namesakes from generations prior (family name perchance) and some records suggest that the original Nacoth and Ostlahoth were lost in catacombs south of modern Corden. Other documents suggest they are the same and have merely lived on due to discovering immortality. Nacoth seems to handle more of the day to day affairs in Corden. The city has grown substantially under his reign and seems to have reached a peak of prosperity and trading. Ostlahoths records seem a bit more sparse. He appears reclusive but is the more dangerous Mage out of the two. His fondness for children is well documented - it appears most of his public interactions have been with them. Many of the church documents show disapproval there and even some northerners express concerns. There are few records regarding the layout of their castle or even which servants work for them. Locally it is said that it is an honor to work for them - that families are well compensated. More quiet whispers suggest that you will never be seen again if you step into the castle.
More recent records indicate that they have been sending diplomats and messengers further south than before. A dodgy report expressed concerns that there was to be an obscene amount of money utilized for the hiring of new personnel.
The Beliel and Dracmere Mage Lords is a title more collectively given to the family instead of the individual. Both families derive from wayward branches of the Imperial Drakus household, and they boast some of the most powerful mages this side of the world. More information to come...
All of the Mage Lords appear to endorse policies that frown on the Cashemaran Church, even going so far as to outlaw the religion within their borders.

With a little digging you are also able to piece together that Ostlahoth will be in Corden in a few days though the whole affair is being covered up the best it can be.
There are also records of Ostlahoth taking on apprentices on occasion though there is little first hand accounts about him.

Mayhaps we can send our tiny assassins after all."
