"So I'll be taking the kid?" Lask asks "Yeah! Lask, this'll be fun!" Kai bounces in his chair. He huffs and looks at Nanaris. "Teach Kai to talk less and we will have a lovely trip."

"I can fight pretty well.... and I can be quiet." "So I'll be taking the kid?" Lask asks "Actually, I think it would be best if he provides backup for Ban and Rose," He muses, scatching his beard.
"Let's hear it Kaia - your input is always appreciated."

"A fair point, and I've reconsidered. I think Lask and Kai is still the best fit, but Nanaris should station with Kaia. Lask, take him with you on some of the less dangerous jobs until we know the extent of his capabilities."
He smiles at Nan. "I know, boy. I am certain you are quite capable."

(Something requiring lots of resources and potentially human lives)

"How big of a thing would we have to make happen?" "It would be hard and might make them nervous but if we could do it even the traveling lord may be there. Let's start learning about our targets while I do some research." Orthos purses his lips, musing. "Hm. The plan has its strengths, primarily that if we can eliminate them all simultaneously, we avoid a great deal of logistical issues. However, I see several issues that I cannot think of a way to surmount. First and foremost, the Lord Ironwood is not on the contract. We will not kill him. Second, to create an upset large enough to force the Lords to gather would require a great deal of resources and would potentially ruin or end a great deal of life, and may have a decent chance to reveal our existence, if bungled. Third, any gathering of all Mage Lords together would be an immediate and obvious target to anyone opposed to their actions - meaning that they will see the threat coming and will be prepared and protected. Fourth, if for any reason we fail to eliminate them all at the same time - if there are any survivors - I daresay we'd be dealing with one or more fully alert, fully prepared, royally pissed off Lord of Mages. This is, for obvious reasons, a foe I would prefer to avoid. Fifth, as Ban indirectly points out, any event that will cause them to meet will cause them to be scared - and fear begets nervousness, paranoia. Four on-edge, paranoid mages are hardly ideal targets."
"It is an idea with merit, however. If you can think of any way to get past these issues I would love to hear them, as it would be an ideal way to dispose of them."
