"That's not up for discussion. You kill one and another will step in to be the mage lord." "And if they abuse that power then you can write us a polite letter and we'll consider your request. One to two business weeks." "The entire families have abused their power, and that's why we made a contract for the entire family. We already paid you half upfront for both families."

Virgil is having a hard time staying quiet. Only reason he tries is due to the fact the priests might not know they are there.

"Then we can refund you and work out the details. The fact of the matter is we do not kill innocents regardless of the coin. Or perhaps you can provide evidence as to how each and every member of the family has abused their power?" He crosses his arms and raises his brow with a "well?" expression. His eyes narrow then in that peculiar way when someone is intentionally testing the waters. "Or is it because they have personally wronged you? Red hair you dye? Green eyes? Do you want us to kill of these families so you can step into the position stripped by your bastard title?"

Can he not answer his own questions?" He sneers at the younger one, and glances to the elder. "I would be most gracious for said evidence. Still - I would like the contract to be changed to reflect the targets as the Mage Lords. You coerced children into signing under duress. It's hardly a just contract, and I would think it would be well in your interests to keep us on friendly terms."

I seem to remember a whole branch of the Drakarian line being eliminated ten years ago?"

Rose will keep still as she listens. She probably gives Kai a warning look about him exploring and fidgeting Kai ignores this look but his fidgeting gets at the same time more subtle and more tense as this conversation progresses.

Such a breach in conduct would be punished severely in accordance to our laws. Furthermore it fails to address the point that you forced ridiculous restrictions on apprentices during a time of duress. Again I ask you to change the current contract." He says, his tone losing the sarcasm held previously. He watches both of them like a hawk.

I take issue with the fact that you are now pressing their debt upon apprentices and further reorganized the original contract to be more binding on young lives. A vague contract become oddly specific without mentors around to 'take issue' with the rubbish you composed. My terms remain - you will extend the deadline and limit the Beliel and Dracmere houses to the Lords. I will evaluate the additional names you provide under both households to see if it is acceptable regarding our laws, and if so, we shall proceed to provide their blood to you as well. I believe this would be ideal for both of us."

Anyone with a drop of blood or just someone who bears the name? By the ancestors - we could have to kill half the continent without further defining." He circles to stand behind the priest, glancing at the contract again. "Do you agree with changes and contracts signed under coercion?"

In a fast movement he slams the young priest's head against the desk, holding him there against the contract. "I will be approving this list - and if the names do not coincide with what I learn about the individual then we will not include them on the contract. Do I make myself clear? Or do I need to use persuasive means that seem more in tune with your church's language?" He presses the tip of his dagger against the priest's throat, twirling it ever so slightly so that it draws blood.

There's no need for that...." he backs away a few steps "I'm sure we can come to a reasonable agreement."
