"I honestly think it would be best if you sit this one out. I can handle it quickly and it would just be better to assure them we can handle it without my having to keep an eye out on you the whole time. When I get back we can all sit down and discuss the ramifications of our renegotiated contract." Rose nods in agreement, eyeing Caerus as if waiting for him to spread wings and fly off. Caerus doesn't fly. He fades or shadow merges.. "Cheer up Kairos. There's always next time." He readjusts his cloak and walks out.

"We've still have much to learn." Abrus sighs.

Later that night (or would it be more appropriate to say early that morning?) Caerus can be found lounging in the lounge, half sprawled out on one of the arm chairs, reading contently by dim lamplight.

She sneaks around and heads for the door, wanting to take care/play with the horses

Since this "lounge" is still at the church, Kai might be up pestering Rolland or a priest somewhere.

"Where have you been off to? Shouldn't you all be in bed?"

"Where have you been off to? Shouldn't you all be in bed?" "More light would be one suggestion, save reading for the daytime perhaps. And while I should probably be asleep I have developed mild and assisted insomnia from my time working alongside Kaia. If I wasn't nodding off where I stood I could spend my time doing something useful. For tonight's case I spent a bit of time getting back in touch with our old information network and putting in an order for some of my hard to come by tools and supplies in exchange for my services."

"Reading during the daytime? Then what will I do at night?" He closes the book after finishing the last paragraph. "Insomnia? Hmm...in that case I will pester you when I have work in the evenings. I'm glad you were productive - good work. I figured we could spend today establishing a home base if you will - after dealing with the morons here." He motions in the direction of the other room where he had discussed the contract with the priests earlier (even though they are probably asleep).

While you finish your negotiations should I and the others take a look around for potential locations?" Despite Virgil's best attempt to hide his anger at Caerus' comment he probably fails to put on a relaxed smile.

He looks surprised at Virgil's anger, but this is more or less indicated with a slight brow raise and pursing of the lips. "Question - how reliable do you think our previous contacts would be? Would you bet that none have been compromised?"

" given that these contacts were almost completely unused and that a good portion of those involved don't even realize what they are a part of it is highly unlikely that they have been compromised. The system in place basically has a few select people around town receiving all the gossip of the city. Kaia had me memorize who to go to for what kind of information was needed. She even mentioned that this network could be converted to get us out of the city if one or more of our safe houses are compromised."

Perhaps we can sit down and review it at your leisure once we get reestablished here?"
